About This Print

A rendering of Tochō (都庁), the number 1 Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. The building stands 48 stories above ground, with a height of 243 meters. Its 45th floor contains the North and South observatories.

While best known for his still life prints of flowers in vases, Yowsaku designed a handful of prints depicting contemporary Tokyo. This print is an monumental (approximately three feet high by two feet wide) tribute to this imposing skyscraper that defines the new Shinjuku, once a red-light entertainment district.
